Tower Grove South is a historic neighborhood located in south St. Louis, Missouri. The area was originally settled in the late 19th century, with many of the homes built between 1900 and 1930. The neighborhood is named after the nearby Tower Grove Park, which was established in 1868 and designed by noted landscape architect, Henry Shaw. The park is known for its Victorian-era pavilions, fountains, and gardens, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Tower Grove South became a popular neighborhood for middle-class families in the early 20th century, with many of the homes featuring unique architectural styles, such as bungalows and four-squares.
